Thanksgiving is a special holiday in the United States. It mostly involves eating great food with loved ones and playing games. We also like to take time to give thanks (hence the name “Thanksgiving”) and share with each other something we are thankful for from the past year.

Join us for a fun, Thanksgiving party! This is a POTLUCK party, which means that everyone brings some sort of food item to share. When everyone brings a little something, we have lots of food and a really fun party!

We encourage you to bring a food item that is special to you, maybe even one that represents your home country, culture, or family.

Make sure to sign up for this event to let us know you’re coming. This helps us know how many seats to save at the dinner table. 😃

Join the Friends For Dinner Thanksgiving Exchange! This special program invites international students like you to experience Thanksgiving in a warm, welcoming American home.

Thanksgiving is one of the most cherished American holidays, a time when families come together, share a delicious meal, and reflect on what they’re thankful for. Families in San Diego are excited to welcome you (and a friend from your university!) to celebrate this meaningful day with them on Thursday, November 27, 2025.

You’ll enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving feast, share stories, and make new friends. It’s a perfect way to experience American culture firsthand, make memories, and maybe even start a new friendship!
